I am a native of Atlanta and had been living in Roswell for over 18 years before recently moving to Cumming. Before choosing to become a Massage Therapist and a Compassionate Touch Practitioner, I was a Rehabilitation Counselor, working with individuals who had suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and other neurological conditions. My job was to help my clients and their loved ones adjust and adapt to the significant cognitive and physical changes that had occurred.
Deciding to become a Massage Therapist was part of my own healing journey. Suffering from a number of autoimmune conditions and the extreme pain of Fibromyalgia were realities in my life that pushed me to explore hands-on complementary modalities that could help me cope with the pain. I became part of an 8 week national massage research study on Fibromyalgia through the massage school I attended, receiving two half-hour massages twice a week. By the 6th week, 90% of the pain had disappeared, only bothering me on occasion. This was inspiration! Learning to do massage and help others with all different kinds of pain became my new life path.
I have now been a massage therapist over 25 years and as I learn, grow and change, I have found it important to allow my practice to evolve. As part of that evolution, I recently became a Points of You® Practitioner. Points of You® is a powerful professional and personal development tool to create meaningful communication, gain insights and have a real impact on people’s lives. It is an extraordinary tool to help people feel less stuck in their lives. It inspires them to explore and open up to new possibilities.
