Davida is native of Atlanta and has been living in Roswell, Georgia for about 15 years. Before choosing to become a Massage Therapist and a Compassionate Touch Practitioner, Davida was a Rehabilitation Counselor, and worked with individuals who had suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and other neurological conditions. She helped their spouses and children as well, facilitating their adjustment to the significant cognitive and physical changes their loved ones were experiencing.
Deciding to become a Massage Therapist was part of Davida's own healing journey. Suffering from a number of autoimmune conditions and the extreme pain of Fibromyalgia were realities in her life that pushed her to explore hands-on complementary modalities that could help her cope with the pain. She became part of an eight week massage research study on Fibromyalgia through the massage school she attended, receiving two half hour massages twice a week. By the 6th week, 90% of the pain had disappeared, only bothering her on occasion. This was inspiration! Learning to do massage and help others with all different kinds of pain became her new life path.
|In her spare time, Davida enjoys the creative outlet of designing jewelry. She loves playing with shapes, color, and tiny little bright shiny things! Her dream is to live on a lake in the mountains, learn to sew her own clothes, and have time to cultivate talents in ceramics, painting and drawing -- a girl can dream! She also enjoys swimming, dancing, kayaking, visiting art galleries, and observing performance art with her loving and supportive husband.|
